About Wehrloom Honey & Meadery

Nestled in the heart of the Appalachian region of Western North Carolina, Wehrloom Honey & Meadery is a small family business dedicated to the art of beekeeping and the creation of pure, natural products. Located in the lush landscapes of Graham County, where two-thirds of the land is national forest, we provide a serene haven for our bees, ensuring they thrive in an environment as close to their natural habitat as possible.

Our Story

The Wehrloom journey began in 2012, when Aron Wehr gifted his wife Jessica two beehives for Christmas. What started as a thoughtful gesture quickly blossomed into a passion, transforming those initial hives into hundreds. The Wehrs, along with their daughters Anna and Abby, began sharing their honey at local festivals and farmer’s markets. By 2015, they opened their first storefront in Robbinsville, NC, marking the official birth of Wehrloom Honey & Meadery. In the summer of 2025, we expanded our roots with a second store in Bryson City, NC, sharing our honey, meads, and sodas with even more of the Appalachian community.

At Wehrloom Honey, we’re committed to keeping things pure and simple—just the way nature intended. We never use treatments, antibiotics, or chemicals in our hives, so every drop of honey retains its natural health benefits. From hive to bottle, everything we make—our honey, meads, sodas, skin care and more—is crafted by hand in small batches. Behind the scenes, our small but mighty team personally packs and ships each order with care, ensuring that the same attention and craftsmanship that goes into every product carries through to your doorstep.

Our stores, in person and online, offer a delightful array of honey and honey-infused products. From raw, lightly filtered honey to unique flavors like Vanilla Bean Infused Honey and Chocolate Lovers Honey, there’s something to tantalize every palate. Our natural skincare line features products like Oats and Honey Soap and Lavender Lip Balm, while our beeswax candles provide a warm, inviting glow.

Sip on Honey: Mead, Tea & Soda

Experience the magic of mead, an ancient beverage often referred to as “honey wine.” Our taproom offers a variety of flavors, including Black“bear”ry Mead with Lavender, Hibiscus, and Vanilla, and the zesty Everybody Loves a Ginger Mead along with a few dozen additional seasonal varieties.
